I’ve got a few things in the works, but I’ve been a little overwhelmed with the work load of helping others in the community get through library upgrade issues. I have a feeling that I’m not the only one according to my brother-in-this-fight Rob Boyer. It is a shame really that this bug has reared its ugly head so diversely in “userland”. From the libraries I’ve looked at, it’s clear there is no one solution – just the need to do some good old fashion’d step by step debugging. In many cases, it seems it is not even the application itself that is causing the problem. Hopefully we are nearing the end of this drama, but if you are still having aperture 3 issues, and are willing to send me a hard drive, I might be able to help you.

In the interim, I have a few posts/tutorials I’ve been working on and would welcome any “votes” in the comments as to which is the most important to you?

  • Aperture 3 Performance Tips – when you can’t upgrade your GPU, what do you do?
  • Understanding the Aperture Library – Planning for storage
  • Referenced vs Managed? – The misconceptions towards both and which solution you should consider based on your workflow
  • How to make Faces work for you – A follow up to “the cases for faces” with the steps to actually make faces work well, and a few thoughts on how it could be improved.
  • “Culling” Video for final cut – Dumping rough edits from aperture 3 into a final cut sequence

If any of these ideas would be helpful for you – let me know where my priorities should be in the comments below. If there’s something I missed, feel free to help me add to the list too… Happy Culling!
